Coach Wright

Head Football Coach/Defensive Coordinator/Assistant Athletic Director. 18th Year Coaching, 3rd Year at Bartlesville.

Coach Wright is a seasoned head coach entering his second season at the helm of Bartlesville High School, with an impressive track record of success. In his debut year, he guided the Bruins to a commendable 5-7 record and a memorable first-round playoff victory over Lawton.

Prior to joining Bartlesville, Coach Wright honed his coaching skills at Lonoke High School in Arkansas, where he served as the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach. During his three-year tenure, he amassed an impressive record of 21 wins, including a 2019 District Championship and a 2020 District Runner-up title. Before that, Coach Wright served as the Defensive Coordinator at Bentonville West High School in Arkansas, where he played a pivotal role in helping the team win 28 games, secure three Conference Runner-up titles, and make a Semi-finalist playoff run.

Coach Wright’s coaching journey also includes a stint as a Defensive Line Coach at McAlester High School in Oklahoma, where he was part of a Semi-finalist team.

As a 2003 graduate of Eufaula High School, he boasts a remarkable 42-9 record, earned the title of Team Captain, and was named to the All-Area Team for three consecutive years. He was also named the 2002 Oklahoma Class 3A Offensive and Defensive Lineman of the Year and was selected to the 2002 3A Oklahoma All-Star team.

Coach Wright continued his career at the next level as a 4-year starter on the Offensive Line at Bacone College, where he was a 2-time All-Conference Offensive Lineman and a 2-time Team Captain.

In addition to his coaching duties, Coach Wright will also serve as Assistant Athletic Director at Bartlesville. Coach Wright is a resident of Bartlesville, he and his family feel blessed to be a part of this amazing community and school district, and are eager to establish a winning culture in Bruin Football that values Effort, Attitude, and Toughness. Coach Wright and his wife Lauren have a 10-year-old son, Evan, and are committed to making a positive impact in the community.
